Wal-mart Finds

Everytime I visit Wal-mart I end up spending two hours browsing. I actually go there to pick up a few items and come home with something I hadn't intended to buy. That's my trouble with stores that carry everything but the kitchen sink. I've been looking for new china to use for Christmas dinner for a few years now. (we usually use paper plates). I'll go to Dillard's and love what I see but don't want to spend $30.00 for one plate. Not for something I'll use once a year. In the past Wal-mart has carried some pretty cheap looking Christmas dinnerware but look what I found from Better Homes and Gardens, a new line they are offering now.

I love the pattern and the quality of the china is exceptional. Cost only $3.00 a plate!  Wouldn't a pretty red or berry dessert plate look good with it. They also sell a place setting for four of this pattern for around $25.00 but I didn't need cups and saucers, etc. I just don't have a place to store all of it.

I plan to use these plates for Thanksgiving. Another Wal-mart find. The dessert plates came in green, orange and purple and the color above. The dinner plates I already had (also a Wal-mart buy).

I went to Wal-mart that day to find ear muffs for our trip to Branson next week with my sister and her husband and found this little ditty instead.  I don't usually wear hats but this actually looked rather cute atop my head.

not my head

Is this cute or what? Cost $3.00 and comes in white, red, and black.  My sister will wish she bought one! Actually, I'd buy her one but I'm sure she won't want us to look like Twinkies. This is why I browse. You never know what you might find if you don't look.

I am so glad you wrote this particular post today because it reminded me that last year after Christmas I bought some Better Homes and Gardens Christmas dinnerware at WM. Now I'm anxious for Christmas. Your hat is darling. I wish I could wear a hat but can you say "Hat Head"? I have such thin, baby fine hair that it just mashes to my head if I put a hat on. Have a wonderful time in Branson! We're planning a trip in the next couple of weeks.
