This past winter I lost my hibiscus tree to the cold. I was just sick about it because I had been so careful. I decided to turn what was left of it into a garden bottle tree. I have seen these trees in garden magazines for years and thought they were cute. I left the tree in it's pot and bought some colored bottles at Hobby Lobby at half price to put on it. I then planted some impatients around it and whalla...a whimsical outdoor centerpiece for the deck.
The pictures above are other garden deco I've added to the deck. I've enjoyed birds so much and thought these were just what I needed to give the deck some personality. I am almost finished with my butterfly garden and will show pics later in the week. Have any of you been working out in the garden this spring?

Those are the perfect birds for me! The birds that visit us usually leave "something" behind and can be so annoying!!! Great idea for the bottle tree. Never seen anything like it! Enjoy!
Very pretty and what a great idea! No garden work for me. Thats Ralphs job! LOL I just enjoy looking at the results!
Unfortunately, it turns cold every time I want to do yard work. Wait a minute! Maybe that's a GOOD thing! :)
I have recently learned about bottle trees. A great idea. You know we had the biggest snow storm of the winter here in the mountains over the weekend. It has melted by now, but it is so muddy that it will be a while before we do any gardening.
Everything looks great. I've just started to work outside . Nothing looks as good here as it does there!
We lost ours, too! I wish I'd saved what was left now for a bottle tree. So beautiful!

What a clever idea.... quite cute. :-) And you still get to enjoy a bit of it, right? We had a really hard winter here too, but do you think the ugly tree in the front yard would actually die? Heck no. We have to pay to have it removed. Darn it all.
Have a great week.
Blessings,
Spencer
I love your decorations. I am hoping to work in the yard this weekend. The weather is supposed to be wonderful.
