A couple of Saturdays ago we hosted a Hawaiian Luau birthday party for our daughter-in-law. Our whole family got together for this celebration.
On the menu was shish kobobs, grilled chicken, baked beans, potato salad, Hawaiian bread dip, corn dip and chips, and for dessert we had cupcakes for the kids and fruit pizza for the adults.
Because of the extreme heat we celebrated inside but the kids had fun outside with water games.
I made tissue paper flowers that were placed everywhere and all other decorations were bought on sale.
Everyone enjoyed the Hawaiian Luau theme of the party and now I'm trying to come up with another theme for the next birthday party in September. Any ideas out there?
Aloha,
Christine

The luau party looks like a lot of fun. For September, how about a '50's sock-hop theme. Hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream floats. I just saw some of those old-time burger baskets at the dollar store the other day.
What a fun party! Love the theme! All the decorations were great!
If the party in Sept. is for a guy you could do a football theme, a gal's party could be apples, 'You are the apple of my eye.'

Ah.....Luau party ARE fun! Maybe a Harvest Party???
You went all out! Love the cupcakes with the little umbrellas! Bet they were so good! Your french door is exactly like mine, and I am loving that red front door!
I agree with Gloria on the Harvest Party. So many options there.
I like the 50's theme, too. The luau party looked like a lot of fun. You really know how to jazz up a family get-together!
Your daughter-in-law must've loved her party! So much thought and attention to detail.
