Sister Act

I spent the weekend with my sister and her husband and had a great time. She and I use to fight like cats and dogs when we were kids and even into our teenage years. I was a big tease and she was an easy target. I knew just how to push her buttons. You would think after having to put up with me all those years she would have distanced herself from me but after we both got married and had children we seemed to actually get closer. Now that our children are grown and have children of their own we see each other often and have a great time. We have a lot in common and talk nonstop when we are together. In fact, this weekend we both complained of chapped lips and dry mouths from talking so much. I was helping her with a garage sale she was having and that gave us plenty of time to catch up on this and that. In fact, when I got home yesterday from the visit we talked three more times on the phone. That would have never happened when we were teenagers. In those days we had our own friends and activities to keep us busy. But, now, I'm happy to say she is my best friend and I don't tease her as much as I use to.

You're so blessed that you & your sister live close. My sisters live in Houston & Kansas City, so we don't get together as often as we'd like. My Mother was so right when she told us that we would miss each other some day when we grew up.

Smiles,
Carol

It's wonderful that you have such a great relationship with your sister. I was just thinking today how lucky I am to have a close one with my oldest brother who I wasn't close to growing up. Funny how time and age can change things for the better!! :-)

Well, next time she's visiting, maybe you should go shopping for some new clothes! I think those are a bit out of style! :)

Sister visits are the best. Mine is coming to Anchorage this July (along with my mom and aunt!) We are also having a group photo professionally done. We will have a very special one done of my mom and Miss Diva Halle, her former dog!

Would like to see pics of the garage sale!!

Beautiful portrait of you two!

I am the oldest of 4 sisters, I know what you're talking about. As we grew older, had our own kids, we grew closer!

You are so lucky to be near enough to visit with every so often!

Thank goodness for unlimited minutes on my cell, we can all talk up a storm! :)
