Spring or Summer

The temperatures in Oklahoma have been in the high 70's and low 80's and all things green are blooming. This is unheard of in March. I've known us to get snow as late as mid March and the temperatures don't get this warm until May. I can't tell if we are in the spring of the year or the beginning of summer. Does this mean we will be looking forward to another hot summer?  I hope not.

Our azaleas are in full bloom and the Japanese Maple is all leafed out. This has gotten my gardening juices flowing and I've been doing some yardwork this week. I've already made a trip to Lowe's gardening center and invested in some Boston ferns. At $7.50 a pop I bought eight!  I put them in the front entryway which gets a lot of shade.

As soon as the begonias come in to our local garden centers, I'll be planting those. I don't think I have to worry about a late frost this year.

How is the weather in your neck of the woods?  Are you doing any yardwork?

Looks like we've skipped spring & went straight to summer here in NE Oklahoma. Your ferns are beautiful . . . note to self, go to Lowe's & buy ferns for my deck! I LOVE your front door wreath!

Smiles,
Carol

Yardwork? That'd be a no.

Wow. I love the spring wreath you have on your door. Very cool.

Your entire yard looks great with the maple out and the azaleas blooming. Very nice Boston ferns. I should look at those myself...later...much later.

I'm going to have to check out our Lowe's for some ferns! We planted some bulbs a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend we installed some decorative fencing to keep the plants safe from our Lab and his buddy from across the road. Last summer they smashed a lot of our flowers and hostas trying to find a cool place to lay down during the hot summer days.

We had some really nice weather, but now it's back to what March/April should be. Your ferns look really nice! And I like the front door! Enjoy your weekend!

I'm going to plant impatiens this week. My favorite and always do so well in the shade. Bought some ferns and pretty daisies. I'm a human butterfly when it comes to flowers! Your house looks so pretty!!!
